About Us: A Story Woven into Seams
“I create clothing that tells stories — stories of women, memory, heritage, and individuality.”
— Margarit Babajanian

The Designer’s Journey: From Kapan to New York
The BMB (By Margarit Babajanyan) brand was born at the crossroads of cultures, geographic discoveries, and a deep reverence for one’s roots.
The brand’s founder and designer, Margarit Babajanian, was born in Kapan, in Armenia’s sun-drenched Syunik region. It was there, surrounded by strong women and centuries-old family traditions, that her love for craftsmanship was ignited. From early childhood, she experimented with fabrics and altered garments, intuitively understanding that clothing has the power to transform how a person feels.
This personal creative quest eventually evolved into an expansive international journey:
-
Childhood and youth in Moscow shaped her dynamic style and sharp understanding of the fast-paced big city rhythm.
-
Studies in Europe refined her visual taste, instilled a classical foundation, and introduced her to sophisticated European tailoring traditions.
-
Today in New York City — the ultimate home for the bold and independent — a new chapter has unfolded for BMB, infusing the brand with a global vision that beautifully bridges diverse cultural codes.
The BMB Philosophy: Beyond Time and Trends
Founded in 2012, BMB was built on a simple yet powerful idea: to design timeless pieces that empower women through confidence, individuality, and effortless elegance. We do not chase fleeting trends. Our goal is to create garments that remain relevant for years, becoming an organic part of your personal story.
The Brand Symbol: The Safety Pin
A recurring signature throughout BMB collections is the safety pin.
Growing up, Margarit noticed that the women in her family always attached a small safety pin to the inside of their clothing — a traditional Armenian custom to ward off the evil eye. Over the years, superstition gave way to consciousness, but the symbol remained.
Margarit realized that the pin was never really about protection; rather, it represented care, memory, and the invisible connection between generations of women. Today, that concept lives on within BMB — not as a talisman, but as a poignant reminder of our heritage, resilience, and the personal stories we carry with us.
Sustainability and Inspiration
Sustainability is the cornerstone of BMB. We work exclusively with high-quality natural fabrics, release collections in limited production runs, and champion a slow-fashion philosophy. Many of our drops incorporate reimagined upcycled materials, reflecting our strict commitment to minimizing waste.
Margarit draws her creative influences from travel, urban architecture, cinema, contemporary art, and, above all, the inspiring women she encounters around the globe. Whether crafting an everyday look, a conceptual stage outfit, or an ensemble for a special occasion, BMB designs for those who value quality over quantity and individuality over mainstream fashion.
Dressed in Superstition. Rooted in Memory. Designed for the Future.
